Transportation

The Waterfront Place Hotel (WPH) and West Virginia University are easily reached from either the Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) or Dulles International Airport (IAD).

The most convenient way to reach Morgantown is to fly to Pittsburgh (PIT) and rent a car round trip. Car rentals are very convenient at Pittsburgh International Airport since the pick-up area is adjacent to the baggage claim. The distance from the PIT to the Waterfront Place Hotel (WPH) is about 80 miles on Interstate highways. The drive takes about an hour and 15 minutes. Bus service is available, from PIT to a bus stop near the WPH, but the schedule is not convenient unless you have an early or late flight.

An alternative way to reach Morgantown is to fly to Washington, DC (IAD) and then catch a commuter flight to Morgantown Municipal Airport (MGW). The WPH has a free shuttle service to and from the airport.

A third way to reach Morgantown for those in the mid-Atlantic states, Pennsylvania, and Ohio, is to drive. Morgantown is served by I-64 (East), I-79 (North and South), and I-70 (West). For example, Morgantown is slightly over 200 miles by Interstate highways from the Washington/ Baltimore region.
